Internships at the Manitowoc County Historical Society are a unique way for college and university students or recent graduates to get an inside look at the workings of museums.
Interns gain valuable hands-on experience by participating in the ongoing work of various areas of our museum operation.We offer positions in a wide range of areas. Specific jobs and projects fluctuate each year, based on need.
All intern positions are experience based and are unpaid.
The Manitowoc County Historical Society Intern Program is open to currently enrolled freshmen-senior college/university students, graduate students or recent graduates. Internships can be done for school credit with the appropriate approval. The majority of internships occur during the summer but some are available during the school year.

Intern hours are flexible, based on the needs of the area of study and the intern’s schedule. Typical summer internship last for 12 weeks, 5-20 hours per week. Some nights or weekends may be required. Manitowoc County Historical Society internships are offered in the following areas:
• Public Relations
• Program and Event Planning
• Membership and Development
• Maintanance (Woodworking, painting, etc)
