High Time for Afternoon Tea

Join in an afternoon tea with renowned historical interpreter, Jessica Michna for a program designed specially for the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th amendment.

Cristabel and Emmeline Pankhurst, Susan B. Anthony, Emma Davisson, Elisabeth Cady Stanton; some names you may recognize, others you may not. You will learn of these and other women (and men) who championed the cause of women’s suffrage in this country and overseas in the late 19th and early 20th century. You will learn of the protests, jailings, victories, and defeats culminating with the signature of President Woodrow Wilson that would forever give women the right to vote.

Jessica Michna, recipient of the Presidential Service Center’s Distinguished Service Award, is widely known for her riveting portrayals of First Ladies, notable women of history and fictitious characters. She has entertain groups throughout America including guests from as far away as New Zealand, Japan, and Brazil. Performed by Jessica Michna of Historical First Impressions.

The program begins at 2 pm. Refreshments will be served. This event is best suited for adults and children age 6 and older.

The cost is $5 for MCHS Member adults and children age 4 to 17, $10 for Adults, $7 for children age 4 to 17, and under age 4 is free. Museum admission is included in the cost of the tea program. Advanced registration is required by calling (920) 684-4445.
