Tis the Season: Homeschool Family Field Trip

  • Manitowoc County Historical Society 924 Pinecrest Road Manitowoc, WI, 54220 (map)

Explore different ethnic holiday traditions with symbols, hands-on traditions, and customs. Who was Krampusnacht and St. Nick? Discover the celebrations related to St. Lucia in Scandinavian countries. What traditions would families have brought with them to the new world?

Note: In order to give students hands-on experiences, we suggest families rotate in small groups. Thus the maximum capacity of this program is about 100 students.

The ideal age for this program is 4 to 17. Program activities take place from 10 am to 2 pm, unless otherwise noted. We suggest allowing at least 2 hours to enjoy the program activities. The Two Creeks Town Hall is available for families to take a snack or lunch break, or enjoy a quiet space to play.

Family field trip/homeschool program admission is $6 for students age 4 to 17. Children under 4 are admitted free. One adult educator per family is admitted free.  Additional adults may join in the program at a cost of $12 each. Payment is due upon registration.

Register to attend by December 7.
