Create-Connect Workshop Series
Blacksmithing: The Great Outdoors
Saturday, July 25 from 12 Noon until 3 pm
Learn about historic blacksmithing techniques. You can choose between selected outdoor themed projects including lantern hooks or a camp tripod.
Lantern hooks can be used for backyard festivities, plant hangers, and many more uses.
The finished camp tripod project will stand between 5 and 6 feet tall and is based on a Civil War-era design—great for campers or re-enactors.
Small class size guarantees lots of one-on-one instruction and lots of time at the forge. Dress for working in a shop with a dirt floor, and for the weather (shop is heated by a wood-burning stove only).
Please bring: Heavy work gloves, eye protection, water bottle
Suggested but not required: Take Blacksmithing Basics class first
