Home for the Holidays: Themed Field Trip
Guided through the wintery Historic Village, interpreters will share 19th-century seasonal traditions and encourage students to make connections with their own experiences. This experience has six 20-minute stops, each in a historic building bedecked in holiday decorations. This tour creatively delivers a host of curriculum topics in a memorable way using song, dance, games, crafts, storytelling, and more!
The Road to Freedom and Emancipation: Themed Field Trip
Explore the history and context around the Juneteenth holiday in the United States. Topics explored will include the history of racial injustice in the U.S., the Civil War and the limitations of the Emancipation Proclamation. Additionally, we encourage groups to explore the modern significance of Juneteenth and its long-term impact.

I hear you’re ready to get to work. And not a moment too soon. We’ve got a case at our local history museum and we need you to get right on it. The historians there are stumped. They have a bunch of unidentified artifacts on their hands. Big things, small things, heavy things, light things. The folks at the museum don’t know how or why any of them were used.
